VENICE Venice is built on water. Instead of roads there are canals and people use boats instead of cars to get around. The special boats they use are called gondolas. These boats are painted black because of a law passed in 1562 to stop people wasting money on the paint!
PISA The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the most famous buildings in Italy. It has 8 floors. The tower began to lean when the builders were on the 3rd floor. Instead of starting again, they added 5 more floors!
